THE LAKE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

Those strange columns without a roof seen along the cliffs of the Gardesana are called "limonaie": a sort of greenhouse of the 1700s built to protect the citrus groves, which then had a thriving cultivation here on Lake Garda. Almost all of them can be visited, and are located between Toscolano Maderno, Gargnano and Limone sul Garda.
